WHO AM I

As I grew up surrounded by the rich biodiversity of forests, florals, and the seas, I developed a deep appreciation for nature.

MY CREATIVE JOURNEY
I’m Imelda Tagudar, a brush painter whose early years in Bislig, Surigao del Sur, Mindanao profoundly shaped my creative perspective. Surrounded by the rich biodiversity of forests, florals, and the sea, I developed a deep appreciation for nature—an inspiration that continues to guide my work today. The instinct to preserve fleeting beauty led me naturally to artistic expression, using whatever materials were available to translate memory into imagery on canvas and paper.
In 2022, I held my first group exhibition, Colores De Las Mujeres, at LRI Design Plaza in Makati under Galerya Amalia. My watercolor pieces sold out, marking a significant milestone in my artistic journey. That year became a breakthrough, with all my works—watercolor and acrylic—sold at various exhibitions. The momentum carried through 2023 with multiple exhibits, including a two-woman show with Ms. Jinky Rayo in Ortigas, which helped solidify my presence in the local art scene.
In 2024 and 2025, I expanded my practice by exploring coffee painting—a medium that added depth to my creative voice and gained recognition in the art industry. Soon, I’ll be diving into oil painting, a step that I believe will further refine my style and deepen the thematic resonance of my work.
My art continues to reflect a reverence for nature and memory, rooted in the landscapes of my youth and evolving through experimentation and personal growth.
